WHAT ARE SHARP CARDS?
Sharp cards were developed as an education tool for people living in prison because the incidence of Hepatitis C in prison is very high…disproportionately higher than in the community at large – as high as 30% for men’s prisons and even higher for women’s.
Initially we received funding from Public Health Agency of Canada to develop this educational tool, and they were distributed for free to every inmate in Canadian prisons in that first year.
We have been filling orders ever since – to date we have sold 107,775 English and French cards to prisons, Hepatitis C and AIDS organizations, and community organizations like JHS and homeless shelters across Canada.
