Bridge-to-Home Hub Restores Comfort with 20 Mattresses Donated by Springwall Sleep Products Incorporated

Moncton – June 27, 2024

The John Howard Society of Southeastern New Brunswick (JHS SENB) continues to expand its services in the community to support the people that we serve. A part of this involves pivoting our services regularly to effectively address the needs of individuals facing homelessness, particularly in providing critical support through our Bridge to Home Hub Resource Centre and Shelter. As we adapt to evolving challenges, including those posed by transitions from hospital care and specific accessibility needs, our commitment remains unwavering to elevate, empower, and enrich the lives of vulnerable members of our community.

As part of this effort, the Bridge to Home Hub is taking on a new role and has started to welcome guests and provide critical respite bed service for homeless individuals transitioning from hospital care, homeless veterans, and those with ongoing accessibility needs. These respite and transitional beds offer a safe and stable environment for individuals who require additional time and support to stabilize their health before transitioning into more permanent housing solutions.

On June 21, 2024, JHS SENB received a donation of 20 twin extra-large custom-made waterproof mattresses from Springwall Sleep Products Incorporated (Springwall); a Canadian-owned and operated national mattress company with manufacturing facilities in Moncton, Mississauga, and Calgary. Springwall is renowned for its commitment to quality sleep products and community support initiatives.

“Our organization is dedicated to elevating, empowering, and enriching the lives of individuals in our community, particularly at this time those facing the challenges of homelessness,” said Dan Brooks, Executive Director of the John Howard Society of SENB. “Mattresses are essential to providing a restful and restorative environment for our guests. We believe Springwall’s commitment to quality and community aligns perfectly with our goal around this need’’, he added.

The provision of mattresses will significantly enhance the shelter’s ability to offer comfort and dignity to its guests during their time of need. It also highlights Springwall’s dedication to social responsibility through its community support.

“Springwall Sleep Products is pleased to provide support for the Bridge to Home Shelter.  We believe that everyone deserves a comfortable and supportive mattress. We hope these mattresses help guests feel restored, refueled, and refreshed” said Dawn Geldart, Vice President of Finance at Springwall.

The John Howard Society of Southeastern New Brunswick invites community partners to join in this mission to support the region’s most vulnerable members. Your support will make a meaningful difference in providing a positive environment for individuals in transition back into the community into a place they can call home.
